Matthew and Halisha’s traditional Hindu wedding was all about cultural romance and celebrating their one-of-a-kind love story. If you’ve followed us for a while, you know how we have a sweet spot for these kinds of celebrations! With that in mind, how could we say no to this unique wedding at Bennetts Willow Barn?
A Colourful Wedding Ceremony
As UK wedding photographers, we usually take photos of the decorations, especially the unique Indian attire and, of course, the couple. As everyone awaited the ceremony, we noticed a talented dhol player leading the procession, following the bride, and walking in with a few family members.
Halisha stunned in a gorgeous traditional Indian A-line Anarkali suit with a red dupatta. On the other hand, Mattew was smiling constantly and couldn’t hide his emotional side.
During this Worcester wedding ceremony, the bride and groom exchanged garlands. The next tradition was the holy fire, believed to be a purifier and sustainer of life in Hinduism. Here, the priest recited holy scriptures before they walked or took “Pheras” around the fire seven times. Offerings were placed into the holy fire, and the marriage was sealed with final vows and a ring exchange. As the ceremony was near its end, the couple were officially newlyweds. On their way to Bennetts Willow Barn, they received blessings, cheers and a confetti shower.
The Celebrations
After the ceremony, we captured some fantastic shots of the couple along with their family members. Some of our favourite ones were those with wood in the background and when Mattew and Halisha were together on a swing. As UK wedding photographers, we loved Bennetts Willow Barn as it offers a vibrant canvas for priceless photos. The reception was outside, with perfect table setups. Then came delicious Indian food and more pictures before the end of a perfect evening.
Mattew and Halisha are a wonderful couple, and their wedding at Bennetts Willow Barn was absolutely fantastic. We had the time of our lives watching so many unique elements of cultural significance. Their families were warm and friendly and treated us just like one of their own.
