Indian weddings are truly one of a kind with their joyous celebrations, vibrant colours and heartfelt rituals. Bringing this magical and gorgeous event to life in The Manor by the Lake adds another layer of charm and excitement. The wedding story we are sharing today is of an amazing Indian couple, Aria and Vib. We were blown away by the unique photo opportunities as we arrived at the venue. Also, the chance to witness and capture the unique Indian wedding traditions.
Colourful Indian Wedding Celebrations
The Manor by the Lake is a hidden gem in Cheltenham. It is a picturesque setting across seven acres of landscaped grounds. It includes a gorgeous lake, Italian gardens, and lush green spaces, providing a stunning backdrop for any event. The Indian wedding started with the individual portraits of Aria and Vib in their suites.
Aria looked resplendent in a bright red lehenga with intricate golden details adorned with gorgeous golden and green jewellery. She looked like she was straight out of a Bollywood movie. Meanwhile, the handsome companion complimented the bride’s look with his cream sherwani, a perfect match for the grandeur of the occasion.
As the ceremony time arrived, all the guests were waiting at the Indian wedding venue for the festivities to begin. For us UK wedding photographers, the most amazing moment was capturing the dancing couple while arriving at the venue. Then Aria walked down the aisle while dancing with her bridesmaid, and Vib was joined by his groomsmen. It just made the moment so joyous and full of fun. The Indian wedding ceremony started with Pandit Ji, who performed the wedding rituals involving the couple and their parents.
Heartwarming Traditions
One of the unique Indian wedding traditions we noticed was the couple exchanging garlands and taking seven pheras. The important Hindu ritual represents a couple’s journey through life and the vows they made to each other. For couples getting married, knowing the importance of each pheras is essential. As Aria and Vib took each pheras and read the vows, their family and friends showered them with flowers. After the ceremony, the ecstatic newlyweds made their way to the gardens. But before that, we took them on a tour around this Cheltenham wedding venue’s gardens for intimate shots. We aimed to create intimate and relaxing photos of the couples, and that is what we created. Also, we took an opportunity to capture some of the stunning group shots of the couple with the family members.
The Iconic Reception
The Indian wedding ceremony was conducted beautifully, and the reception space was turned around to accommodate the breathtaking setup. The table setups, the lighting, and the floral decorations were brilliantly executed. One of the important highlights of the evening was the family’s choreographed and performed dance, especially for the day. After their first dance, Aria and Vib danced in a group with their family members and rejoiced at each moment. The ballroom was decked up in all white and gold, and that wedding cake was nicely designed with Mr & Mrs topper. Also, the delicious Indian wedding food delighted all the guests. The evening invited plenty of music, great food, group photos and dancing to celebrate the end of the perfect evening.
