Kwok and Cheuk’s wedding took place at Belper’s Makeney Hall Hotel. It is one of the most astonishing wedding locations in Derbyshire, featuring six acres of stunning gardens.
The happy couple fell in love with the majestic venue. The best part of their wedding? It featured two beautiful ceremonies: a traditional tea ceremony followed by a gorgeous fairytale wedding.
Traditional Tea Ceremony
The morning started with the couple getting ready in their suites. Kwok looked gorgeous in her stunning traditional red attire, which her mother helped her put on. Meanwhile, Cheuk appeared in a dapper cream suit.
The couple planned a tea ceremony for the first part of the day. Everyone was ready, and the couple arrived in the room and served tea to their relatives. It was an hour of fun, conversations, and jokes between the families. Also, it was an excellent way for every family member to speak to the newlyweds, wish them luck, and hand over gifts.
Once it was over, the family gave Cheuk permission to marry Kwok. The marriage party and families were both witnesses to the fun event. Following the tea ceremony, we had a chance to capture a few photos of them and their families. Afterwards, they headed back to the suite to prepare for the second half of the day.
A Whimsical Makeney Hall Hotel Wedding
After the traditional tea ceremony, all guests eagerly waited for the bride to arrive at the ceremony hall. Makeney Hall Hotel is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Derby wedding venues, but the decor truly elevated the whole atmosphere.
Kwok walked down the aisle with her mother, looking gorgeous in a stunning white gown. After the couple exchanged their vows and stepped into their new beginnings, the bride had a lovely bouquet toss.
Before moving to the reception, we took some time with the new partners to take photos on the venue grounds. We love shooting at Makeney Hall Hotel; it is a versatile space with a spacious outdoor area. The gardens are just perfect for capturing portraits later in the day.
Following the couple and group portraits, the guests were treated to delicious meals. Everyone had fun while interacting, listening to heart-warming speeches, and cutting the cake. It was such an incredible day at the Makeney Hall Hotel, where two families came together to celebrate the marriage of this amazing couple.
