Today’s wedding story is about Kara and Mark, one of the most amazing and full-of-life couples. Their Scottish wedding at the Virgin Hotel was one of the most special celebrations we have ever attended, and it was nothing short of spectacular! We knew we were in for an epic day once we saw the venue and organisation, and witnessing how it all came together so nicely was an enormous privilege.
The Relaxed and Fun Wedding Morning!
The day began with the getting-ready session for the bride and her party. Kara looked surreal in the gorgeous white gown with a beautiful neckline. She completed her fairy-tale look with a lovely tiara, which left her father breathless when he saw her for the first time.
Then, we joined Mark and the groomsmen in the club for some photos. He was dressed in traditional Scottish attire, including a plaid kilt and tartan. He also wore a black jacket to complete the look. The venue’s opulent decor and luxurious ambience offered stunning backdrops. The red and deep wood of the bar created a warm setting and an inviting atmosphere.
Memorable Scottish Wedding Ceremony
The Virgin Hotel Edinburgh set the stage beautifully for the unforgettable moments of the day. This hotel looks like a mediaeval castle with stones, vibrant hues, and elegant settings that add a touch of glamour to the pictures. The moment the couple informed us of the wedding venue, we were clear that the wedding was not just about embracing their love but also the beauty of the hotel.
Meanwhile, Mark waited eagerly for the bride to arrive while all the guests were comfortably seated. Kara walked down the aisle with her father, radiating with happiness and pride. The ceremony was nothing short of heartfelt vows, a special handfasting ceremony where the hands of the couple are bound together with a ribbon. Shortly after, the newlyweds made their way out, and we showered them with flowers. After this, we went to the rooftop for a group session for family photos and a few couple’s portraits. One of the main highlights during the session was the adorable dog, who added a personal touch to the photos, making them more timeless and memorable.
The Fun Evening Continues!
It was time to return to this iconic Scotland wedding venue for the reception. As we returned to the hotel, we took advantage of the picturesque locations and unique photo spots. Heartfelt speeches, cake cutting, and the first dance of the gorgeous couple as newlyweds followed the beautiful evening. Overall, the atmosphere was calm and joyful, and we enjoyed photographing laughter and tears.
