The Cottage Hotel – A Historical Venue with Modern Features
Since Matthew and Lucie wanted something simple yet unique, the blend of history and contemporary was the answer. The Cottage Hotel was constructed from a series of cottages in the 17th century, and today is a marvellous venue with scenic surroundings. The hotel’s charm is enhanced by the spectacular fountain in the courtyard that creates a warm atmosphere for an ultimately romantic wedding. Moreover, the beautiful roses surrounding the yard contribute to the magical ambience of the whole venue.
The Romantic Ceremony
Matthew and Lucie decided to exchange their vows in the hotel suite that offered intimacy. They said their “I do’s” in front of their dearest friends and family. The overall decor was subtle, with delicate floral arrangements that were accompanied by green details. The wooden beams and the marvellous crystal chandeliers added to the romantic setting of their cottage wedding.
A photoshoot of the wedding party followed the ceremony. The couple decided to use the magnificence of the lavish ambience, so they took the bridal portraits outside. Our photographer had the chance to take beautiful photographs of lovely people in enchanting surroundings.

Matthew and Lucie wanted everything to match the design of their cottage wedding venue. Therefore, they went for wooden details that looked uniquely charming. They had adorable centrepieces along with some white floral arrangements that looked magnificent on every table. Moreover, the couple had wooden hearts that guests had to sign and drop in a frame. It was an amazing idea, allowing them to relive their big day after it was over.
Being part of Matthew and Lucie’s whimsical wedding at The Cottage Hotel was a wondrous bliss. Unique and authentic celebrations bring the greatest joy and they are not something you see every day. It was a real honour to witness and capture the most candid moments of such an occasion.
