Grays Court is a historic house hotel in Yorkshire hosting weddings, with panelled rooms, a long gallery and centuries of layered history right beside York Minster.

Grays Court is a historic house hotel tucked beside York Minster, with panelled rooms, a long gallery and centuries of stories. Intimate and atmospheric, right up our street.

We are genuinely taken with venues that carry this kind of atmosphere, where the architecture does so much of the work and every corner holds character. The intimate scale, the warm wood panelling and that remarkable city backdrop make it a place we would absolutely love to bring our cameras to one day.

Getting to Grays Court

York railway station is your best bet, sitting roughly a mile from Grays Court. It's well connected from London Kings Cross and Manchester, so most guests should find a direct route. From the station, it's an easy walk through the city walls, or a short taxi ride if you'd rather save your shoes. Leeds Bradford is the nearest major airport, around 25 miles away, with good road links into York. Parking at Grays Court is limited, so carpooling is genuinely worth organising in advance. There are several public car parks nearby in York city centre, all within comfortable walking distance. For the evening, pre-book your taxis. York is busy on weekends and local firms like Station Taxis are reliable but can fill up fast. Sort your return ride before the dancing starts.
