Big Day Productions wedding photography

Islington Mill is a unique weddings venue in Salford, a former cotton mill reimagined as a creative hub with raw exposed brick, working artist studios and a genuine DIY spirit.

Islington Mill is a former cotton mill turned creative hub in Salford, all raw brick, artist studios and DIY spirit. Bold, alternative and exactly our kind of Manchester wedding to shoot.

We are completely drawn to what this place represents: bold, alternative and unapologetically itself. The textures alone, aged brick, industrial light, open creative spaces, are exactly the kind of environment that makes for compelling, characterful wedding films. We have not shot here yet, but it is firmly on our list of venues we would love to bring a camera into.

Getting to Islington Mill

Salford Crescent train station is your best bet, sitting roughly a 10-minute walk from Islington Mill. Trains run regularly from Manchester city centre, making it an easy journey from most directions. Manchester Airport is the nearest major airport, around 30 minutes by car or accessible via the Metrolink tram network with one change in the city centre. Parking around the venue is limited, so we'd strongly suggest checking nearby streets or using one of the NCP car parks in Salford ahead of time. For the evening, book your taxi or Uber in advance. It gets busy late on, and a pre-booked ride home saves a lot of waiting around in the cold.
