The combination of a sweeping lakeside marquee setting and a beautifully preserved manor house gives couples so much to work with, from intimate ceremony moments inside to wide, open-air portrait opportunities on the lawns. The natural light across that landscape, with water close by and open sky above, is the sort of thing that makes for genuinely cinematic wedding films. We have not filmed here yet, but it is firmly on our wish list.
Getting to Thornton Manor
Thornton Manor sits on the Wirral Peninsula, and Liverpool Lime Street is a well-connected mainline station that puts the area within reach for guests travelling by rail. From there, a taxi or hired transfer across the Mersey makes for a straightforward onward journey to the estate. Pre-booking a transfer from the airport is well worth doing, especially on a busy wedding day. If you are driving, the Wirral has good road links and the manor has parking on site, so guests coming by car should find arrival easy enough.
